Is it possible to onboard a phone number that cannot receive a verification call from abroad?
Generally, it is possible to onboard an existing phone number as a mobile, landline or tollfree number. As part of the onboarding process, every phone number has to be verified with a verification code that is generated in the UK or in the United States.
🚫 If the phone number cannot receive calls or text messages from the UK or the US, then it’s not possible to verify it, and therefore it cannot be used in connection with a WhatsApp Business Profile. This is currently a restriction of WhatsApp.
In such cases, it’s necessary that the company chooses another phone number for the WhatsApp Business Profile.
